BRIANNA TEEHAN (SHE/HER)
Brianna (better known as Bri) is a professionally trained singer and performer, recently obtaining her Diploma in Music Industry Performance. She performs regularly at a plethora of different functions including weddings, celebrations, corporate, and in the mirror!Bri refers to musical versatility as an, “old friend.” She finds herself performing an array of different styles including but not limited to: Jazz, Latin, Funk, Grunge, Opera, and good ol' Rock/Pop.
When she's not teaching private lessons, gigging, or directing choir, you can find her alongside her three man-sized Mainecoons, Nero, George and Xena. Or, man-sized partner, Cam.
Bri loves sharing her passion for music (and her all black, alternative wardrobe) with others, and bringing her own sparkle to directing. She is very excited to start this new musical journey with Soul Song!
GEEBUNG, WEST END, BULIMBA & VIRAL CHOIRS
JACQUELINE LARSEN (SHE/HER)
Jacqueline (or Jaq, but never Jacqui!) is the founder of Soul Song and currently directs three of our Brisbane choirs which are also hybrid online rehearsal with our Viral choir members.Jaq is passionate about getting people singing and has been running community choirs for over 30 years, starting in Edinburgh when she was at University.
She believes that anyone can, and should, sing and is committed to creating accessible, entertaining and judgement free spaces where anyone can come and get their weekly sing on.
With an energy that is infectious, Jaq's rehearsals are often irreverent (and sometimes irrelevant!)comedic farces that send singers back out into the world refreshed, recharged and with a sore face from smiling!
SUNNYBANK
REBECCA CASSIDY (SHE/HER)
Rebecca is a trained opera singer who regularly performs with Opera Queensland, Underground Opera and the QSO.However, she is passionate about learning, singing and teaching all styles of music.
When she isn't performing Rebecca is an avid camping and nature enthusiast who loves going off grid in her old Pajero named “Gary the adventurer” and spending time with her partner and their little cat named Wally.
Rebecca loves to help people find their voice and share her love of music with others. She is so excited to join the Soul Song family and have a lot of fun at Sunnybank!
WEST END - ASSISTANT MD
DANIEL LARSEN (HE/HIM)
Daniel is no stranger to teaching at Soul Song, having been instrumental in the success of our Viral Choir at home rehearsals and having filled in for Jaq on a few occasions for West End rehearsals But this is the first year where we are formalising his position as Assistant Musical Director at West End.This means that the Westies will get double Larsen trouble with Daniel taking the lead on a few songs throughout the year from ON stage rather than his normal heckling from in the room!
Daniel's musical ability and confidence far outstrips his age and in 2025, not only has he recorded all the tenor and bass tracks, he has also arranged a few of our songs.
Daniel's been part of the Soul Song family since he danced in front of the choir in the Cairns parade as a 4/5 year old but when he's not singing with us or as a bass in Sound Avenue, his passion lies in punk/metal and he is the lead guitarist and vocalist with Brisbane based punk band Chemical Prisoner
CAIRNS
Our Cairns choir was founded by Jacqueline Larsen in 2010 and is now run by a dynamic trio of Musical Directors who have been making the magic happen in Cairns since 2017 but have been members of the choir for much longer than that.
SARAH DUNN (SHE/HER)
Sarah first stepped up to lead the Cairns rehearsals in 2018 after Jaq left and over the years has developed her own style of comedy and directing flair that keeps people coming back week after week.Originally from the Uk, Sarah is a data analyst by day and her approach to teaching is equally detailed and she has a knack for making tricky rhythms easy AND fun and conducts with military precision thanks to her guns of steel!
With a similar style to Jaq but a much dirtier sense of humour, Sarah's rehearsals are cheeky and irreverent with occasional unexpected tangents or costume accessories to help make a point!
Always one for a challenge, Sarah loves to get her teeth into the songs that are the trickiest to teach and direct and loves to lead the really powerful songs where she gets to use the full dramatic flair of her conducting style.
RHIANNON WILLIAMS (SHE/HER)
Regardless of what colour her hair is at the time, Rhi is a director that is not easily missed! How she weaves such confidence and solid harmonies and rhythms from 50 singers each week without the use of sheet music is nothing short of magical and miraculous.
Learning all parts - sometimes up to 6 or 7 of them in a song - entirely by ear, the other MDs and singers all look to her to be the gospel of truth for how the parts should come together as per the original vision.
Rhi is also instrumental (pun intended) in getting the singers moving and assists our Choreographer in teaching and directing any dance moves for the Cairns crew.
Her musical tastes are eclectic which allows her to be a chameleon who is comfortable leading all kinds of song.
CLAIRE BOSSINGHAM (SHE/HER)
Claire is another Brit although has been in Australia since childhood. As a primary school teacher, Claire's approach to teaching at Soul Song is organised and methodical - leaving no room for error but allowing and expecting space for chaos and improvisation!
Despite having a musical background, Claire was thrown into the role of Musical Director with little preparation or experience but has developed a style of directing that immediately puts singers at ease. Her natural, no frills and no nonsense approach encourages and reassures the members who then work hard to give her their best.
One of our most innovative and sideways thinking directors, Claire often comes up with unique methods for how to convey what she wants from the singers and, once they've all finished laughing about how potentially silly they are, every time they work like a treat!
Claire is most at home leading our gentle, story based songs but she doesn't vanish into the choir for the funkier, faster numbers either! If she's not directing, then she's often in the front row dancing instead!

GABBY BERMINGHAM (SHE/HER)
Gabby has been a performing jazz singer her whole professional life.
She has over thirty years experience as a teacher, choir director and singing teacher.
As a senior tutor with the Australian Girls Choir she works with both the senior auditioned choirs and the Junior program.
She is also a Mentor with the Music In Me Program that strives to improve the standard of teaching in the Music Education space.
From the age of 9, Gabby has sung in choirs in Canberra and Sydney so she is definitely a choir tragic who is inspired by the community connection and the joy of making music together.
